ABOUT / BIO
|
Luciano Minetti is a New York-based jazz pianist and keyboardist whose work bridges the modern jazz tradition with a distinctly contemporary approach to harmony, rhythm, and ensemble playing.
A graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Minetti studied with acclaimed pianists Bill O’Connell and Fred Hersch, experiences that helped shape an approach centered on musical interaction, spontaneity, and a strong harmonic language. |
|
As a performer, Minetti has worked with and alongside an extensive range of artists including Carmen Lundy, Eddie Palmieri, Kenny Davis, Ralph Bowen, Conrad Herwig, Claudio Roditi, Arianna Neikrug, Luques Curtis, Terreon Gully, Ben Williams, Andrew Renfroe, Curtis Lundy, and Julius Rodriguez.
|
His performances have taken him to leading jazz venues including Birdland, the Blue Note, Smalls, and Mezzrow, as well as international jazz festivals in Cuba and Italy. He has also performed live on WBGO 88.3 FM.
In February 2025, Minetti was part of the house band for For the Love of Anthony, an all-star concert honoring legendary bassist Anthony Jackson. Under the musical direction of Kenny Davis, Minetti performed as a rotating cast of musicians took the stage throughout the evening, including Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Victor Wooten, Simon Phillips, Dennis Chambers, Omar Hakim, Mino Cinelu, Rachel Z, and other leading figures in jazz and contemporary music. |
Minetti’s recorded work includes Live From Brooklyn, a collaboration with vocalist Arianna Neikrug, and Off the Cuff with the Luciano Minetti Trio. Rooted in the jazz tradition, his playing combines a strong harmonic sensibility with an emphasis on conversation, rhythmic flexibility, and the kind of spontaneity that comes from musicians responding to one another in real time. His approach reflects the lineage of the pianists and musicians with whom he has studied and performed while continuing to develop a musical voice of his own.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY
Alongside his work as a performer, Minetti has built a parallel career in the musical instrument industry, working across electronic instrument development, sound programming, product strategy, demonstrations, and global product launches. That experience places him at both a unique and valuable intersection of performance and technology, connecting the artistic and technical sides of contemporary keyboard playing. |
